The role would suit someone who has a proven track record of, or shows the ability and potential to support positive learning behaviours.

Alver Valley is considered a Beacon School for its innovative approach to developing learning behaviours throughout the County.

This could be an ideal role if you have a talent for connecting with children, together with experience of working in schools in a paid or voluntary capacity.

Collaborating closely with colleagues and teachers, you will identify children’s needs, offer advice and develop plans to turn things around. You will also work 1-on-1 supporting children successfully in the classroom.

This is an incredibly rewarding role as you work with children to guide their progress and help them fully participate in school life. You will be working with children at a pivotal point in their lives and your support can influence their whole future. In this role you will:

  • Use observation, dialogue and data analysis to identify strategies that support at a pupil, cohort, and whole school level
  • Support children with strategies to be successful in the classroom
  • Support and coach staff in use of the school behaviour policy
  • Create and monitor individual behaviour management plans and risk assessments

Essential Qualities and Skills:

  • Be passionate about enabling children to become independent, focused, regulated, resilient learners who are respectful.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of strategies to support different groups of learners.
  • Be aware of some of the barriers to positive learning behaviours, and of strategies to support pupils to overcome these.
  • Be an exceptional practitioner, committed to high standards of behaviour.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the importance of, and model, positive relationships.
  • Be proactive and committed to working as a team
  • Be committed to inclusion.
  • Demonstrate high level of professionalism in relationships with colleagues, parents and other agencies.
  • Have excellent organisational skills and ensure appropriate paper work is up to date.
  • Be a clear and effective communicator, both written and verbal, with all stakeholders.
  • Be excellent at record keeping.
  • Have grade C+ GCSE in English and Maths.
  • Have a clear understanding of safeguarding procedures.
