At Alver Valley Schools we all believe that a strong partnership between home and school is essential for a child’s education and well-being. Our aim is to ensure that all of our children are happy, feel secure, enjoy being at school, and reach their full potential.
From time to time we run workshops and parenting courses to help you to support your child on a variety of topics. For example, recently we hosted an anxiety workshop working with the NHS. Parents feedback showed they really valued the session and this was followed up with drop in sessions for parents.
“It’s amazing that the school are covering anxiety, I’ve been given lots of information, amazing support for parents.”
“It’s a comfort knowing you are not alone.”
“The anxiety workshop offered by school is brilliant.”
“It’s difficult knowing where you can go for help, this workshop gives ideas you can try yourself.”
Mrs Russell and Mrs Kitcher co-ordinate a variety of workshops to support parents. If you have an idea for a workshop that you think will benefit you and your child they would be keen to hear your suggestions.
Home and School Partnership and Support
We also have a Family Support Worker in school, Mrs Reilly. You can contact her through the school office, by phone on 023 9258 1777. You can also find her on the playground most mornings before school.
Supporting all of our families is really important to us. We are a friendly, approachable school that works hard to help solve problems before they become bigger issues. Mrs Reilly is in school to offer support, advice and guidance to the parents and carers of all our children and is happy to meet with you on a one-to-one basis or to speak with you on the telephone.
